FAQ
What if my child is unhappy or does not want to co-operate?
Don't panic, we can work together to try to bring the smiles back and make the session as fun and relaxed as possible. However, you know your child better than anyone, so if there really is no way back to a happy place, we can discuss rearranging for another time.
What if my child is sick on the day of the shoot?
I understand that these things happen so please just contact me as soon as you can and we can rearrange your shoot. Everyone's health and safety is my top priority and we want to make sure everyone is at their best on the day.
How long does a typical photo session last?
Normally I allow an hour for a child photo shoot, however, sometimes it can be shorter if we have captured plenty of lovely moments. It's usually apparent when your child has had enough and it's time to end the session. Likewise, if they are having too much fun, we may go over time. Either way, I aim to provide ample time to capture all the important moments and ensure you feel relaxed and comfortable throughout the session.
what can I expect with a cake smash and splash session?
We can discuss themes, colours etc before the photo shoot. I will take some portrait pictures before your child gets messy with the cake. Then they will have the chance to smash the cake with a wooden spoon or their hands and get as messy as they like. Whether you include a splash session is entirely up to you. After a quick clean up I'll introduce a mini bath with bubbles. I will provide clean towels and wipes.
Do you provide the cake for the cake smash?
I do not provide the cake for the cake smash but can recommend some local bakers who make amazing creations.
What should my child wear to their photo shoot and can I bring a change of clothes?
I would normally suggest something that is not too busy with crazy patterns or large logos as this can be distracting in the final image. Think about the colours around your home and if you are going to be displaying photos on the wall, what would fit in well. Bright colours can look fabulous if we're using a white background and naturals also work very well.
Of course you may bring changes of clothes or any other items you might like to include such as a favourite toy.
